Pracownia
My little studio is located in Central Varna, at Dragan Tzankov Street, no 17. On the daily basis is full of dust, clay and glazes. However, once a week I swipe away the dust, put the clay back on the shelf and remove my work apron to welcome You to my studio. Every Thursday You are welcome to visit my little space where I create and fire all my pieces.

Proces tworzenia
Ceramics takes time... Lot of time... Needs patience, love, care, heat... It is a slow process to turn lump of clay into a final piece. To finish one piece it takes me around 3-4 weeks. Each step is equally important and has to be done on a proper time. It requires wedging, centering shaping, throwing, drying, trimming, firing, sanding, glazing...

Naczynia
Every piece is handmade with time and love and shows little imperfections due to the handmade process. They are high fired, which makes them strong, waterproof and durable. I am addicted to colors and love playing with them, inspired by the nature and the Black Sea. I make only small batch series.

“THE VALUE OF BUYING HANDMADE PRODUCTS VS MASS PRODUCTION IS KNOWN TO THOSE WHO APPRECIATE THE SPIRIT OF CREATIVITY AND SUPPORT ARTISTS, CRAFTSMANS AND ENTREPRENEURS THAT FOCUS ON QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY.” -J STERLING
In Zuri you will find unique handmade pottery.
There is a story behind every piece. A story reflecting the ideas, inspirations, imagination and techniques of the artist. The different stories are at the heart of each piece and are what makes them unique.
The name of my ceramic studio comes from the Swahili word Zuri, which means nice, beautiful, unique. Swahili because I spent over 5 years in Africa, most of that time in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The beauty of the African continent inspires me as much as the Black Sea or other countries where I lived for the last 15 years, before my return to Poland in January 2023.
I opened my first ceramic studio in Varna, Bulgaria. It was there that I created, burned and taught others how clay behaves.
My collections are inspired by my travels. As a person absolutely addicted to ceramics, everywhere I go I look for local ceramic stories, local materials and artists. I invite you to my instagram, where I share stories of the world of ceramics.
Thank you for being here :)
Taking care of your pieces
Each piece is dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to extend its life.
To eliminate the risk of breakage, avoid thermal shocks such as putting cold tableware into a hot oven or otherwise.
Eco-friendly packaging
Clay is fully recyclable (before firing). The glazes I use are vegan and lead free.
It is important to me to minimize waste and keep my studio sustainable. I try to wrap my pieces in paper or other reusable or biodegradable materials. However, ceramic pieces are fragile, so when I mail them or know people will travel with them, I sometimes wrap them in plastic bubble wrap. I would appreciate it if you would reuse it. I also gladly collect such foil to avoid additional waste. Additionally, when visiting my studio, please bring your own bag.
Let's keep our planet clean :)
